Youth Shelter

The design of the youth shelter has been finalised and it is anticipated that it will be erected on the Bungay Road playing field before Christmas. Our thanks go to all those who gave to the Gavin and Gina memorial fund, a donation from which will cover most of the initial cost. A commemoration plaque will be fixed to the shelter in their memory. Although known as the youth shelter, all are welcome to use this facility.

Speed Checks

There has been much concern expressed over speeding traffic in the village. Police speed checks are being carried out in various locations within the village over the next few months to hopefully reduce the danger.

In addition you may have noticed the red road surfaces and better signage at the entrances to the village to alert people to the 30mph limit. Norfolk County Council has also promised to monitor traffic in the village and suggest other safety solutions.

New Play Area Equipment

Three new pieces of equipment for the younger children are to be purchased for the Bungay Rd playing field. In addition the existing facilities will receive a face lift and the broken fibre glass slide will be replaced and the wood work renovated. The sandpit has unfortunately been used as a dog toilet more than a play amenity and thus will be filled in.

Members of the public and press are always welcome to attend Parish Council meetings which are held in the Nelson Room of Hempnall Village Hall at 7.30pm on the following dates; Wednesday 16/11/05; 18/01/06; 15/03/06; 17/05/06; 19/07/06; 20/09/06; 15/11/06.
